FAQ – Can I use an AD with my Enforcer?
Can I have an operational Active Directory as well as the LucidView Enforcer Solution?
Yes, it is definitely possible to have an operational AD as well as the LucidView solution. The important consideration is that the LucidView DNS intercept must handle the AD DNS requests to the Internet. All users in the organisation will still query the AD as they’ve done in the past. The caveat is that since we do not see the user originating the DNS request, the bypass list will not allow some users unrestricted Internet access.
Using an AD over the WAN is more complicated as the users will be intercepted by the Mikrotik and DNS handled by the cloud. It might be necessary to put some creative thought into this scenario as it is still possible to get the benefits of content filtering as long as the DNS from the AD is filtered.
