WHAT IS PHISHING?

Phishing is a serious risk to every organisation that uses the Internet and email to conduct business.

Phishing is when an email is sent from what for all intents and purposes appears to be a reputable or known email address to a recipient in an attempt to gain personal information from that user.

For example:  An email is received by employee A from Standard Bank, the email address is a Standard Bank email address and the email contains a link in it that when clicked takes the user to what looks exactly like Standard Bank’s Website.  The user then logs in and the has now provided a third party with their personal banking details without even being aware that they have done so.

HOW TO PROTECT AGAINST PHISHING?

As it is largely a socially engineered cyber threat, it for the most part can only be mitigated through education. However, we at LucidView have developed a solution that allows our clients to significantly reduce the potential damage of an attempt without having to rely on unsuspecting end-users.

LUCIDVIEW PHISHING SOLUTION

LucidView has developed a solution that follows the user to each and every link they click on and then checks that link against what it purports to be as well as against known middleman attack sites.  An automated report is then sent to the company informing them of the an attempt.  This alone provides the company with information to effectively address the related issues.

This solution is available by simply subscribing you and your clients to the LucidView Cloud Security Service.
