FAQ – Categories selected are not being blocked

Categories previously blocked are now accessible?

The Content filter is a DNS & Firewall based content filter, and make sure it is properly configured.  The Firewall rules can take up to 15 minutes to apply to the Mikrotik router.

Another consideration is that the Firewall rule-base is cleared if the Mikrotik router is rebooted and will only be reapplied at the turn of the hour.

However, if you want to regenerate the Firewall block rules more rapidly, you will need to manually unblock all categories, wait 5 minutes, and then block your categories again.
